UIC: UIC Greeting Card Design Contest 2021

It’s the season to show off your creativity and holiday spirit!

Enter your original work of art for a chance to be featured on the Chancellor’s Official 2021 Greeting Card. Open to all UIC students, entries for the competition will be accepted until Saturday, October 16. Works must be submitted electronically with the completed entry form.

The grand prize winner will receive a $ 500 scholarship and the finalist will receive a $ 250 scholarship. The scholarships will be payable to the student accounts of the winners. The winners will be notified by email no later than October 30. The winning artwork will be shared digitally and in print to the campus community, alumni, donors and friends of UIC.

Competition themeOriginal artwork (no photography, religious themes, or stock images) must reflect one of the following themes:

Who can enterAny UIC student of any major or discipline can participate in the competition. Multiple entries from the same artist are acceptable. Submissions without the registration form will not be considered.

How to enterRegistrations will be accepted until Saturday, October 16. Works must be submitted electronically with the completed entry form.

Design specifications1. The illustration must match the dimensions of the standard 5 × 7 card (with an A7 envelope); 4 1/2 x 6 1/8 (A6 envelope); 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (A2 envelope). The file size limit is 14.6MB2. Acceptable file types are gif, jpg, png Artwork files may be edited to reflect final academic language, messaging, and branding standards. UIC also reserves the right to modify the submitted work to ensure that it respects accessibility and other parameters.

Reproduction rightsUIC will retain all reproduction rights for works of art submitted with credit to the artist. The UIC undertakes not to sell any work of art or any reproduction of the work of art. The artists warrant that they are the sole owner of the work of art and agree to assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the work of art to UIC. Entries must be original works and must not infringe the protected rights of other artists or violate copyright laws.

JudgeAll entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by the Chancellor’s Office. Artworks will be judged on creativity, artistic expression and merit, and on how they apply the theme of the competition. The winner will be notified by email no later than October 30.
