Odisha Transport Department will provide vehicle documents in PDF format

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government’s Ministry of Commerce and Transport decided to issue vehicle related documents including learner’s license (LL), driver’s license (DL) and registration certificate (RC) digitally from New Year 2022.

Apparently, as part of the 5T initiative of the state government to ensure better service delivery to the public and to eliminate the delay in receiving documents related to DL, RC and other vehicles, the C&T (Transport) department will develop a portal for the public in which a PDF copy of said documents can be downloaded by the citizen at his convenience.

This system aims to reduce both time and costs for citizens and offers the convenience of generating a copy of the document instantly without the need to travel to the Regional Transportation Bureau (RTO) office or wait to receive the document. even by mail, added reports.

It should be noted that the Department of Trade and Transport (Transport) entered into a concession agreement with M / s Smart Chip Limited New Delhi on July 29, 2006 for the issuance of smart card based driver’s licenses, certificates registration, paper documents for the learner’s permit, License, certificate of registration, trade certificate, certificate of competence and permit and other services in accordance with the agreement.

However, the Concession period that had been granted until July 2021 has expired. The agreement between the C&T (Transport) department and M / s Smart Chip Ltd will be terminated with effect from December 31, 2021.

The Transport Department decided to issue paper RC, DL and other vehicle related documents via a digitally signed certificate or via an electronic signature, as specified in the provisions of the Information Technology Act 2000 (21 from 2000).
