MSP Richard Lochhead has launched its charity Christmas card design competition, open to all primary-aged children in the area.

The winning design will be used for Richard’s Christmas cards.

The theme for this year’s contest is ‘Peace’ and this year’s nominated charity is Moray Food Plus.

Mr Lochhead MSP said: “I can’t wait to see the entries for our 2022 Christmas card competition – I’m sure we’ll get some fantastic designs again this year.

“Each year a named charity working in Moray is highlighted on the map and I hope we can raise a substantial sum for Moray Food Plus through the very generous sponsorship of Moray’s businesses.

“Moray Food Plus is doing a tremendous job and is, unsurprisingly, but very concerning, facing unprecedented levels of demand at this time, which are expected to continue as households face a brutal cost of living crisis this winter.

“Any companies wishing to get involved are invited to contact my office.”

Mairi McCallum, Project Manager at Moray Food Plus, said: “We are very pleased to be the recipients of the Richard Lochhead Charity Christmas Card this year.

“Demand for our food bank service is higher than ever as we enter what is traditionally our busiest time of year. All the money raised will allow us to buy much needed stock and continue to support those in Moray who need our services.

The contest ends on Friday November 4th.
