2021 PNC Championship format, cup rules and day-to-day matches

The 2021 PNC Championship format has been announced for this year’s event, which is the official family event of the PGA Tour, which will be played at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.

The PNC championship field is 40 players in 20 teams of two. The 20 professionals in the field must have won a major championship or the players’ championship during their career. The professional’s partner must not currently have a Tour card.

While the event once had a father-son in the title, the event has seen pro daughters and grandchildren compete against each other over the years. In rare cases, a father-like individual competes with a child close to them.

The PNC Championship format is a 36 hole event. The first round and the second round, on Saturday and Sunday, are played in the form of a two-man scrum.

Both players hit their tee shot, then the team selects the better ball. From there, both players hit their next shot. This continues until the ball has entered. The lowest score after 36 holes wins. In the case of a playoff, the scrambling format is also played.

Players on the winning team will share the winner’s share of $ 200,000 of the $ 1.085 million purse.

The winning team also each receives a Championship belt as a trophy, which is quite elegant and a tribute to the early days of the British Open Championship.
